After Christmas and New Years', What's next?
It was the first US mini-reunion of Batch '82 graduates of Meycauayan College and it was the first reunion I've ever attended. Although small in numbers (there were only 5 of us), I would still say it was successful since no one backed out considering our distance.
Dolly Godoy and her husband Joseph Ramos flew all the way from Atlanta, Georgia.
The driving in LA is not as easy as the driving here in San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to the complicated freeways and highways in Southern CA, in my opinion the drivers in SoCal are more skilled in driving fast and in changing lanes. If you are not familiar in SoCal, you need a GPS to guide you on what road and exit to take or else you'll get lost, right Elnora and Dolly?
I would like to thank each and everyone who made this reunion a success. Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Johnson (nee Elizabeth de Lara) for hosting our “mini-reunion”. Our special thank you also goes to Christine (the beautiful daughter of Beth) for her big help. Hospitality overflowed and so were the foods, drinks, fun and chikahan. We discovered masarap palang gumawa ng coffee si Beth. The delicious pork barbeque, grilled tilapia, spring rolls, drinks and lodging were courtesy of the Johnson family, while the Dela Rosa family supplied the yummy kare-kare dish. Desserts were provided by Dennis and by the Ramos couple who brought special freshly baked Porto's cheese rolls and Goldilock's Buko Pie and Brazo de Mercedes, respectively.
We had fun activities too, like cooking,
watching the CD from our Silver anniversary, picture taking, swimming, and relaxation in the water jet spa. Had we have music for ballroom dancing, we could have seen Dennis' prowess and could have learn some basic steps.
I really had a great time and fun. It was a wonderful experience to see my schoolmates whom I have not seen for a long time. I got reminded of my high schoool crushes. "Nagkabistuhan kung sino ang crush nino". I treasure those MOMENTS that each one shared, their LIFE STORIES and most of all for being who they ARE.
As I write this blog, I am already getting excited for the next get together. Hopefully we can plan for a bigger one.
